As I was coming home last night, I suddenly developed a bad rattling/rubbing sound coming from the front of drivers side of the car.
I don't hear it until I go over a bump or rough patch of road, and I only hear it on the right side. It's slightly worse when turning the wheel to the left, but not that much worse than hitting a bump straight on.
Nothing has been done to the car recently other than an oil/filter change yesterday afternoon. It was routine with no surprises.
The plastic piece under the oil filter is screwed in and tight, and it's not the CV joints, since the boots are on and uncracked. I haven't hit anything in the road recently, or popped a curb, etc.
Any ideas? I thought it was a loose hood latch or maybe the prop rod rubbing on the underside of the hood, but after trying to fix both of those, the problem persists.
What do you think? Could it be a ball joint or wheel bearing or something else?
