I was just wondering what the main differences between a cold air intake made by DoctorSpeed, or APOC, or one of those companies, is like compared to a homemade one, with all the piping and stuff bought and made at home...I have a friend that knows how to make them, and has made a few for friends...I was wondering if I'd notice much of a difference for some reason between his CIA's and ones made by companies...thanks anyone.

Homemade, little dremeling of the fender wall, like 1/2" inch takes like 15 mins (cheapest)
Other ones go right in, but ya pay for the fabricated parts.
Do a search though!!

Do you mean a little dremeling for the piping to fit through, or what?

No dremeling is needed with any of the APOC or Dr. Speed cold air intakes. The pipes are made to fit right in that hole next to your battery and wiper fluid container. If you try and use the Civic 92+ piping, then a little cutting is needed.
