I've gotten a few emails from folks about the transcooler setup I have. Basically I used the Desert Fox kit from MotorSportsPerformance.com (http://www.xtremeperformancestores.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=MSP&Product_Code=DFTC&Category_Code=TC) as my design to follow, but built it myself from parts.

1 B&M Supercooler 19,000GVW transcooler (Jegs 013070268)$45.99
1 Twist-Lok #6 hose 10' (Jegs 0799624010)$28.99
2 Twist-Lok #6 straight union (Jegs 0799624010) $3.49ea.
1 Aeroquip #6 180º barb (bakerprecision.com FCM1562)$16.65
3 Aeroquip #6 straight barbs (bakerprecision.com FCM1512)$4.45ea

Total: ~112.00 + shipping

Sure it's a bit more expensive than the regular "kits" that come with the coolers, but if you're going to do it, might as well do it right.

I used the 24,000GVM B&M Cooler Kit (http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=BMM%2D70264) $49.95+shipping, 11" x 6" x 1.5", and was able to use the kit they supplied to install it. I had enough hose supplied in the kit, used the taps they sent (with some teflon tape to hold the threads seal), and install went very well.

Drove the car around, came home, re-torqued the tap'd splices they provided in the kit, and it all works well. Even checked the threaded taps again last night, torqued all the way down. I'll throw in some one-piece splices one of these days, but the ones I have in there work wonders.

Total cost: ~$65 (had to get some trans fluid to make up for lost fluid from install).http://static.summitracing.com/global/images/prod/large/bmm-70266.jpg

The transmission pumps the fluid through an exit line, to the radiator, then has a return line going to the transmission. You cut open the return line, splice into it with your trans cooler lines, and you're good to go.

As PontiacGT2K stated, there is already a pump inside your transmission. Technically, this is an auxiliary transmission cooler; your radiator already has a transmission cooler built into it, so just splice into those lines. FYI, the fluid should pass through the OEM cooler first, and then through the auxiliary unit before returning to the transmission.

With the car cold, get underneat the front end, grab onto both lines going to the tranny from the radiator. Have a friend put the car into neutral (and don't let him/her drive over your head), feel for which one gets warm. You splice into the one that doesn't get warm first.

Anyone feel like taking the time to describe how to install one of these? I think I get it, but as with anything it's always good to have some instructions....

Those instructions are great....but honestly I used everything that came with my kit, didn't have to buy anything else (other than trans fluid, and had some teflon tape sitting around). Either way works though.
