hey guys, i have a 3.4L camaro and im currently planning to rebuild the top end of my motor with 3100 heads and intakes, but i have a few questions for you guys.

1) where can i get some new stiffer valve springs?

2) what is the ratio of the stock rocker arms?

3) has anyone broken a stock rocker arm with a larger cam?

4) are there any other boards i might want to look at for used parts i still need the upper and lower intakes, and a fuel rail)

You'd probably do better asking about this swap over at 60degreev6.com

ls1 springs will wor, so will the upgrade for the 2.8/3.1 you just have to use matching locks and retainers

2) what is the ratio of the stock rocker arms?
1.5 on the early heads and 1.6 on the 96+ roller rocker heads.

3) has anyone broken a stock rocker arm with a larger cam? not that I know of but the heads will stop flowing more arround 500 lift.

I have a ported 94 upper and a stock lower as well as fuel rails

not to sound like a ****, but probably for a little more you can swap in a chev 350

only if its carbed and it would still be a nightmere
maybe he got the heads for free?
he could prolly do this for under 800 easily
a whole 350 swap would cost more than that:thumbs:

wanna bet? hehe carbed is easy. I have a 355 chev all ready to go, sitting in the shop. ARP studded, 441X heads, shaved and decked, P&P lightened / hardened crank and rods, flat top racing pistons.

ripping out all the electronic stuff and getting the spedo and everything to work without the computers is not easy is not easy
not to mention is he has emissions to deal with.

if we were talking about an 80's model then yeah its not that hard but were are talking mid 90's where many things are tied into the computer.

true, but you can get full autometer conversion gauges, that fit in the stock cluster. Passing emmisions is actually fairly simple with a carbed car. still put cats on it, friend has a 10 sec mustang with a 429 cobra motor, big stacks, etc, tubbed, street driven, it passes emissions better then some late model FI cars.
True, all the harnesses would have to come out, which sometimes is not a bad thing. Even the lighting circuits are not that hard.

Of course, this is coming from someone who sometimes has 3 days to rebuild a car to get it ready to race. Its not that far fetched.

ive heard that a million and a half times.... i could do an LT1 swap for about the same price as the money that im throwing in my motor, but i dont wanna just be another V8.. i have a lot of people that i can get parts from for an LT1 or even an LS1.. but i dont wanna go that route

alero boy , im sending a PM about the manifolds and fuel rail
