Has anyone done one of these things yet ? I'm kicking it around and want to know if there are any problems to watch out for.

My first thought is why?
But secondly, I would be worried about the width and length of the block. I know the tranny fits, but will the engine?
You will have to have axles made for sure.

If you have the $$$ anything can be done!

For the kind of money that would require I would try to put a small block V8 and RWD powertrain in first.

You'd need a ton of custom stuff. Not worth the effort, I'd say.

This has been posted/discussed before. Basically it's not easy and it's not worth the time and money it would require.

I think someone should try to drop in a 2.3HO or W41 instead.

Been there, done that. Not worth the time or investment in my personal opinion, but hey whatever blows your skirt up lol.

thanks for the response. Wasn't sure if it would be worth the time to do or not. The RWD thing is starting to sound really good now. Thanks again

If you're thinking of engine and tranny swap in a grand am, or RWD conversions, my advice to you is... just get a different car. There isn't enough overall aftermarket support for the car that you could raise the car's potential enough to match the purposed engine work or justify the expense. You'd just end up with and ill-handling mismatched mutant like ***'s car. If you want performance that bad, buy a sports car.;)
