Ok, I need a lot of help here. I came from a turbo background, 1994 Talon TSI AWD, and now with my 2000 GASE, I want more power. I miss the 10's, but I will never get a GA there (even though it is addicting). I considered Turboing the car with the parts I have left over from my Talon, Mitsu TDO6-18G(Ported and Cliped), Apexi S-AFC, TurboXS Dual Stage Boost Controller, and a 24 row Greedy FMIC. But after weighing the pros and cons, I decided that the turbo kit would be too much. I don't want to go too far in power, I want to keep the torque in a range that the tranny can handle.
What is the max torque our tranny can handle?
I don't mean the max list, I mean the actual max someone has pushed through it.
And what should I do to help the tranny and protect it?
Ok, now down to my work in progress. I was thinking of using a used m-90 from a GTP, or m-92 from a TBird, a m-62 from a G60.
Which would be better?
I am looking for about 6-8psi, and I plan on finding a way to plumb the FMIC in, or run a smaller SMIC from my stock talon (before I modded it and then Killed it, dynoed at 498hp and 567ft/lbs, 10.383@138mph at moroso).
What size pulley should I use?
How much modification will this take?
What type of fuel mods will I need?
What type of ignition mods?
What type of ECU mods?
I plan on a modded ECU, I heard that the DHP ecu is left unlocked for further reprogramming, Is there any way to reprogram the ecu from a GT to work correctly on an SE? I am very computer litterate, I am a Computer Engineering and Science major. I did all of the ECU programming from my Talon.
I am trying to keep this project below 1500 dollars. I will provide picks of the build and dimensions for the fabricated parts and even make the parts for people for a fee.
BTW.. the turbo from my Talon is for sale, along with tublar manifold, Tial wastegate, and HKS Downpipe. This setup can possibly reach 550hp with the right 4G63 motor.
OH, Yeah, I want the blow off sound. I don't know if it is avaliable for a SC, but I want to find a way to get it.

More blood, sweat, tears and money than would be logical, or $1500.
Also, you cna only get the "blow of valve sound" from a centrifugal as far as I know. All the SCs you listed are roots. You could always get the speaker noisemaker for the fenderwell though...

LOL! No, I have a machine shop in my garage, so fabbing stuff for free is no prob. I have a few sources that I can get the SC for under 500, (fully rebuilt 36 month 36000mile on it). I am just looking for the ideas for the best road for my project.
You can get the Blow Off sound from any Forced induction system, the blow off is there to get rid of the extra preasure between the blower or turbo and the throttle plate in the Throttle body. I am looking to setup the sc to work pre throttle body (the same way the RSM is), meaning that unlike the magna kit that is behind the flow of the throttle body.
I am messing with an m62 right now and I modded it to use an external preassure regulator. Similar to a waste gate ( I am currently using my Tial 35mm gate off of my old talons setup). It works very well, I can accuratly control the amount of boost the sc can max at. The m62 is installed on a B16 motor in my cousins SI and we have worked the car to 9.5psi at 7000rpm with a 2.8 inch pulley that is being overdrived by a larger transfer pulley. I feel I will be able to use both of these Ideas to spool the SC faster (even if it was a centr) and produce more boost, that is also more managable.

Oh yeah, the whole turbo setup on my talon cost me a grand total of 4800, and I was able to sell most of it for about 6700. And I didn't even sell all of the parts.

Thanks for giving me all that info...as you can see by my sig I don't know anything about forced induction.....

See If I wanted to post this for attitude, I would have said it in the begining, but I posted to get help finalizing the plan for my project. I have been working with forced induction for almost 6 years, and in all different types of cars. So I know what I am doing. Yes, I have been mostly turbo, but I have done a lot of sc's. now just because you slaped a premade kit of very limited avaliablity on your car, does not mean you know alot about forced induction. when you push a car into the 10's with your own custom setup, you have the right to act like an idiot.
Any one that is willing to help, and not start problems and arguing (that is not what this post is for), please post your ideas and knowledge.
Aleroboy, I know you got the knowledge I am looking for, so please jump in and help...

Anyone who can type in a search box could see that "custom SC setups" and "custom turbo setups" has been discussed here about 45,927,519 times. And to this day I have seen two completed.
I'm sorry if I came across as an ass but I gave you your answer in my first post. Sorry you don't like the reality, but you replied like I was a newbie who needed to be informed as to what a BOV did. Perhaps your 16th or so post here should have been researched a bit more before asking?? Also, if your "custom setup that pushed car into the 10's" was so awesome...why should you need our help?
I'm done here on this thread. I think most people have read this and overpassed it due to the reasons I provided in the above paragraph, I was trying to at least give you feedback.

He is right though, you can fab up a BOV, bypass valve, or wastegate to any supercharger.....

AMRAAM4, There is a difference between talking and doing. I have already started on the fabbing for the project, and I was just given a m112 for the use in this project ( even though I think it might be to big). And for this reason I made this post, trying to get help in choosing the right sc and pulley combo for the project.
And I need your help, because I am new to the GA platform and need ideas as to working the kit the best. The reason for this was I wanted to build a kit that contains the parts required to build your own kit, based around a few different blowers. The kit would include the mount brackets and everything required to put the sc on the car, all the person would need to add would be the blower of their choice. That is why I am looking at the m62, m90, m92, and m112, because all of these blowers can be found for cheap either used or rebuilt. This would allow more people to force feed their car for alot less then the current kits on the market. My kit will cost around 800-1200 dollars US, and when you add a used blower for between 200-600 dollars US, it will help alot of people.

I think an m90 would be a nice fit for both size and power.
