I finally got my creaking problem fixed (I thought) and now its back. The dealer has replaced sway bar bushings, wheel bearings, tires, inspected tie rod ends, ball joints etc. The noise went away for awhile. Now, its back (when turning left at slow speeds, esecially over a bumpy surface). I've finally isolated the noise to the top of the strut. I can bounce the car by hand and hear the noise to that spot, and I've found that if I spray some lubricant (silicone) down in there the noise will go away for a few days. Does this mean the strut bearing plate is dry? Do I need to have it taken out and replaced or re-lubricated? The dealer cant seem to admit that thats what it is. Any suggestions?

I had that, sprayed the crap out of it with lubricant from above and below, it's quiet now (been like that since ~march)

Yeah, I shot a whole bunch of silicone lube in it last time just from the top. This time I got some white lithuium grease (spray kind) and soaked it down from the top. Maybe I should try it from the bottom side too like you did. That noise has been driving me crazy especially since it got cooler outside.

My GAGT is 40K and has the same noises; so a few days ago I sprayed half can of lubricant on both top and bottom of the front struts. Next day those struts suddenly started squeaking very badly and also sounded like a spring was bouncing inside.
I tighten the 3 bolts on the top, but didn't help. This morning I want to Meineke Muffler shop and they said the noise was from the struts, but couldn’t know the causes without of disassemble them. Do you guys had this problem or may know the causes?
Thanks.

Have them inspect your rack and pinion, that fixed mine.... for a few months.

I have the same problem. The noise got even worse after installing my Eibach Pro Kit. I discovered that the rubber mount that the bottom of the spring was slipping around! I re-positioned that rubber mount thinga majigger and the noise went away. Now after about 15,000 after installing the Eibach the noise seems to come and go. cold raining days will sometimes set it off. What the hell, who knows??????????

my best bet would be that the upper strut mount, and the bearing plate are either warped, or dont have any lubrication between them

I have the exact same problems that you guys state, and to better explain, id bet if you dissasemble your 2 front mounts, youd find something like this............

those are both units, WELL distorted @ 20K

the problem went away with stock springs, but again returned with the H&R's

Wow...that looks like a POS manufactured part. Mine went away for now after I shot half a can of lube in it from above and underneath over a period of 3 days. Some day when I get the time, I'll take it in and have them fix it under warranty.
