I have searched high and low on this site and Grand Am owners club...... I am really liking the Magnaflow setup for our cars, but I can't find part #'s and other info about it, only that it looks and sounds good. MagnaFlow's site doesn't list anything either. Can any of you guys offer some part numbers and ideas with what you have done? I have the Magnaflow catback on my 89 Mustang LX 5.0 so I am already familiar with them, and it does sound awesome.........

Thanks,
Matt

There is no Magnaflow cat back for the 99+ Grand Am. You can use any of their street series mufflers for a single set-up on the driver's side. Or, you can use the Camaro style muffler to have an outlet on both sides.

Street Series numbers .... personal choice, take your pick

Camaro style ... 14266 stainless, 12266 aluminized

Not true , I've seem some people around here with 2 30 series dual. they used a y pipe after the cat. Sound's good , not awsome. but if you choose this setup you have to do it yourself, no place with put it of for you. they say it's impossible, but it's not.

later , mike I don't know many guys on here with welders and pipe benders....so I doubt anyone actually installs the exhaust themselves'. Yes it has to be custom fabricated, but a shop should be able to do that for you np. I would try to find somewhere that will mandrel bend you 2.5" exhaust, y-pipe after the rear axle, to both mufflers. Should be able to be done fairly easily, considering a lot of guys have that setup.

Well a lot of places i went to said they dont like to fabricate, they just do bolt-ons. just to lets you know of the places where;Midas Muffler Bros, and another local mufflers shop. If you could get any of those places to do it , congrats. But i'm just letting you know what happend to me in my situation.

All they would do is boltons? That's pathetic.....I had my high flow cat and tips welded on by Midas (albeit, it was a friend of mine, but still!).

I have never heard of such a thing. Almost every shop here will bend anything any how ya want it. That is pathetic i agree, only bolt ons what the hell?

Dayton? I got a custom dual flowmaster system custom bent for my '98 Ranger at Muffler Bros. in Franklin (right off of 73). They didn't have a complaint about that, and did a great job too. $280 for the labor, muffler and piping (plus an extra $50 for some nice 3" angle cut tips)

Can anyone recommend which of the Magnaflows in the street series to get? I do not want that bees in a can, fartpipe sound. I have 2 very good shops near me that can fab up the Y pipe. I just want to get a good system that flows well and doesn't sound ricey. Thanks for the replies so far.............

Just look here...

http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/mirrorfinish/streetseries.htm

I got the 14815s, they look and sound really good. A little bit loud interior wise for my taste...but you can't beat the looks and how they sound. They are definitely one of the meanest sounding setups I've heard on a GA... Probably about the closest to a Muscle car sound you could get.

Only way I can describe them, when the GA and TA are side by side idling, they sound exactly the same, except the GA is louder and deeper. Once you get on it, you can tell it's a V6...but it's still sounds good.
