Alarm/Remote Start Issue, Is this normal?

I had an Avital alarm and remote start installed on my car last Friday and now when I shut off the car the radio immediately shuts off, before it would stay on until I opened the door.

And also if I shut the car off and leave the key in the ignition or turn it to the ACC position the car beeps (like if you would have left the key in and opened the door). But if I turn the key off and take it out for like 30 seconds and then turn it to the Acc position it doesn't beep at all.

Is there anyway to fix this, or do I have to live with it??

Sounds like a bad install, take it back.

Yea I am going to. I just wanted to make sure it isn't a side effect of them bypassing the theft lock.

Nah - properly installed you won't notice any feature change.

The radio is supposed to stay on until the door opens? That must be a GT thing huh?

No I don't think so, But I don't think it started until the 2001 model year. (When ever they changed the radio).

Another thing I just realized, they didn't put a switch under the hood to kill the remote start if the hood is open. Does this have to be there??

It dosen't NEED the hood pin switch, but it is a nice saftey feature. Peace, Lee
