i need to replace my ac compressor, cuz its shot all the hell! but instead of spending $600 bones for something i never use, is there some way to use a dead pulley, or something to replace it? does anybody have any suggestions? or ideas of finding/fabricating a dead pulley? and i still hafta figure out how to replace it, cuz my damn manual doesnt show how. any help guys would be great, thanks!

I think u need to have a compressor there. The service manual says its used when u use your defroster settings. I dont know why though

Because When you turn you Climet contol to Defrost it turns on the AC Compresser

But I was wondering why the compressor was needed for good old defrost

Yeah I know I cant stand that, The AC Compresser really puts drag on the engine, I mean first off It makes you car suck back gas second of all if oyu have fog windoes and a GTP pulls up to you at the light I mean track your going to have that friggen drag on your engine, :)

actually it turns off under WOT, but yeah it sucks fuel in winter when the defroster is on constantly

LOL I dient know that thanks for the info
And as for your second part to that post, I dont see any reason why the ac comes one when defrost is on, can anyone inlighten me?

De-humidify the air in the car, so it is less likely to fog-up the windows.

damnit, i never us my ac, i dont drive my car in the winter, and i dont have 600 dollars to WASTE on a damn ac compressor....does anybody have a spare laying around?? DOH!
