Hey, I want to do some performance mods to my 2000 Grand Am GT. I don't have a lot of money due to college so I am kind of limited. If anybody has suggestions of what I could do to my car please respond. I have been thinking of getting the upper and lower intakes from Street Lethal Performance and maybe an ASE chip. Does anybody know exactly how much power I will gain with these mods.

Did you notice a significant difference with the CAI and Exhaust

depending on the driver skill and other small factors you should typically drop about .5 to .8 or so off your 1/4 time. (not always the case though)

Intake and exhaust brought me from 15.8-15.9 down to 15.2-15.3

ran a 15.8 stock, 15.5 with cai, and 15.3 with slp

I bet experience driving the car has a lot to help w/ that..

let's see back in the day just from constantly going to the track and not changing anything I dropped my time by 1.1seconds...

I think you guys give slightly too much credit to your modifications.. yeh it is restrictive but really.

All Thoes times just go to shome me that I need to Refine My Setup with a better Cold air and a better exhaust setup, I wouldent mind running a 14.5 with my Current setup Plus the CAI and exhaust refinments.

With some better traction I could have probably hit a 14.7

I know with my doctor speed cai and SLP i have noticed alot more go in my car. When i hit 2nd gear its like something just grabs my tires and away we go. Its alot different then when i bought the car. Thats only 2 mods. Maybe its just me.
