The Borla is much more quiet. Unfortunately, it's also much more expensive. I've got some clips of me talking while recording from the inside with the SLP. PM me if you want them.

the slp is not that loud. I am actually disapointed that mine is not as loud as some of the mustang guys rolling around town. Honestly if your 20 and assuming u have no kids. the slp is a fine exhaust system. I bet you cant even hear the borla in the cabin, becuase i can barely hear my slp, unless i have the stereo completely off. Just my opinion.

I disagree with your opinion. I've had the borla exhaust for awhile, and you can DEFINITELY hear it. Compared to most aftermarket exhausts, it's not that loud. It does, however, have a slight hum to it while cruisin on the highway which you don't hear from the stock exhaust.

Come on man! The SLP isn't that loud at all!
Seriously though....if you replace the SLP with a different muffler, or get a resonator slapped on, you should be quieter with that setup.

Just had a quick question, why would you want a quiet setup?

well i had a dual custom magnaflow exhaust system on my other grand am and i liked it at the begginning but then it just got so annoying.
so if i buy the slp exhaus bolt on system....and do dyno or what ever that name is for sound proffing i shouldn't hear it in the cabin right?

I have dynomat in my trunk with the SLP and I still hear the SLP within the cabin.
Off-Topic, but where in CT are you from?

Go with Borla if you want it quiet. You won't hear a thing, inside or out. Won't even know it is aftermarket unless you look at the tips.

just cut off your exhaust resinator and put in a straight pipe in it's place, it will produce the same sound as Borla for a FRACTION of the cost.

That is a pretty rildiculous remark you just made. I have the Borla and its loud inside and out. It may not be as loud as the SLP but its definately not stock.

i admit, a completely stock exhaust is BARELY quieter than a Borla. But my stock exhaust without a resinator is exactly the same loudness as a Borla. The difference is that I paid 50 CDN for my sound, you paid 1200 CDN for your sound (don't know the american conversion)

Well you forgot that an aftermarket exhaust adds somewhere in the range of +/- 10-12 hp. It definately makes a difference in top end.

the original guy wasn't even asking aout power, he was only asking about sound. If he was concerned about the power, he would have said something.

Any turbo style muffler is going to be relatively quiet and flow better than stock. Just get a Dynomax superturbo in the crossflow set up, or get a Camaro take off muffler.

I have SLP and I love it so much. This exhaust is such an attention whore. Everyone looks at my tips and I have seen lots of cars that have tried to start some **** with me. If you want a quiet exhaust system, stay with your stock one. I don't think there is any point of getting an aftermarket exhaust when you mind the loudness. But if you are young with no kids, get a loud one while you can and enjoy.

I like the way my Borla sounds. Raspy and it's loud only when I want it to be. At lower RPMs it just right, at high RPMs I get plenty of heads turned. I'm expecting it to get a little quieter with the turbo on there.
SLP sounds nice at idle, but it gets pretty loud as far as I'm concerned.
