Before i start installing new audio gear, i wanna protect my car, 3 of my friends cars got stolen over the summer, and none had an alarm, id like remote start, and a 2-way LCD alarm would be nice to. something that i could possibly install myself under >300$

i wouldnt suggest you installing it yourself, because even if you buy the best alarm and dont do a great install, a cheap alarm installed by a professional will work better. For $300 installed at a shop, you can get a pretty nice DEI Viper alarm or maybe a CrimeStopper. I really wouldn't recommend doing it yourself.

I would suggest DEI. maybe better known as Python or Viper or one of is many other names. The only thing is DEI is not suppose to be sent out the door with out being installed by the dealer. Besides, wouldn't you rather have a pro tap into about 15-20 wires under your presious ride. What if you tap the wrong wire and send 12volts down a grounded wire? Not a good thing. Its one thing togive the stereo install a go on your own, and another to make a car start by remote. And if you get half way into it and give up, the shop will probably charge you double to finish it. And if you have problems they will again charge a lot to fix it as they don't know where anything is so its like starting from scratch. JMO. Peace, Lee

I have the Python by DEI on my GAGT and I love it. I would highly recomment it. I got it installed for about $200 at a local shop. The alarm has that cool 6 tone alarm and is loud as ****.
