Either this Crimestopper alarm: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3052083309&category=48611

Or this Prestige Audiovox which my buddy has and it works pretty well so far: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3051191950&category=14934&rd=1

Thanks guyz!

When it comes to car alarms and remote starts I can not stress the buy it local idea more. An alarm is only as good as it is installed. Your local installers will only install what they sell usually. And when something goes weird with either they can be a real pain to trouble shoot. I suggest buying what ever brand is sold at the shop you trust. Also you don't know if the guy off the internet programs another remote to the alarm he sells. He has your name, address, and now the remote to your alarm and you couldn't pick him out of a line up. :stupid:

If you can't install it correctly yourself (which is a task if you don't do it on a regular basis), then buy local and have the peace of mind to have a place to warranty the alarm & install for you.. A less-feature rich alarm installed correctly is 10x more effective than an expensive alarm installed poorly - read up there are some good general alarm info threads in this section of the forums.

That being said, I have that crimestopper one, installed myself with a few extras, I like it. Great range, nice having the 2way.

Nothing but good things, and good results outta the prestige. I had one in my truck before I sold it, and it was real nice.

My buddy bought his Prestige alarm off this same ebay dealer and got installed at a local place for $120 with warranty as long as he owns the car. Sound like a good deal?

Thats cool that the local shop will put it in even though its not a brand they deal in. As far as a good deal though, I don't know as I sell and install a Python alarm system with hood protection, shock protection, keyless, and lots of add on ability. We sell em at $250 installed. Just letting you know and hope you atleast shop around locally first. Peace, Lee

Ya know, a lot of people say that. I'm thinking I should raise my prices. Just kidding. Peace, Lee
