Figured this out today.

1. Clean muffler tips with M-1 Remover or Goof off, availiable at home depot, this will get most of the black grime off, use of a toothbrush might be necessary.

2. Get some mothers alum. mag polish, and go to town. Whatever you couldnt get off with the M1, the polish will remove. Let it dry and buff with a soft cloth. Now you have shiny pipes to match your rims.

im not talking about rusted pipes, im talking about newer gagt's that are still silver in color, but have that ugly carbon buildup on the tips.

NEVRDULL. I belive it's made by EagleOne. It's like a huge cotton ball soaked with a special cleaner. I use it on my stainless steel tips and they come out looking new in 5 minutes.

E-GAD NO! (sorry, didn't mean to shout). I have stainless tips and scratched the $hit outta mine with an SOS pad. Luckily I cleaned the underside first and you can't really see the scratches. I used Eagle One chrome/aluminum polish. That stuff works wonders.

Be carefull using sos pads on some metals because the pad can take the natural protection off the metal and then the metal may tarnish/rust or go dull.

yeah, it seems that the "polish in a pad" cleaners work well. i have tried "never dull" and "mothers". The "mothers" pad worked alot better than what the liquid did.

I go with the same "NERVRDULL". I tried others but this one did the best job, and you dont need that much to get the job done :)

Its a shame they get dirty so quickly...I did mine a little while ago, they are almost black already...:(

I just use that Mothers cleaner and a terry cloth. No scratches and it looks brand new! I can just wipe them down every car wash for about a month. Then I have to clean them again.
