I'm almost in the need of buying some new tires for my 02 GAGT... I really wasn't very impressed with the Good Year RSA's that it came with. I'm thinking about going with something else.. I looked at a local tire shop, and the guy recommended some Cooper GTZ... Anyone ever have any experience with these? Can someone recommend a good tire? I need something for all 4 seasons. I live in Chicago, so they have to be decent in rain/snow... But I also want pretty good performance (handling, etc). Anyone have any aftermarket tires they wanna tell me are good???

I have the Protenza 950's, and I like them...
PS. Don't be surprised if this thread gets moved to the tire forum.

I have Continental Extreme Contact (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Continental&tireModel=ContiExtremeContact&vehicleSearch=true&partnum=25VR6CEC&fromCompare1=yes) tires. They have a pretty aggressive tread so they should be decent in the snow. They are V-rated but have a good feel to them.
Check out the GAGT Tire Database (http://www.grandamgt.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=549) for other tire reviews.

I've been using GoodYear Eagle GS-C all summer. These tires grip so hard on the dry ground that the front end hops when the tires try to peel.:( I also use the Dunlop Sport A2 in the winter. The Dunlops are nice but has a H rating. I have yet to find a tire that peels nice and loud like the RSA's :D

Consumer report recently had a performance tire test.
I have Pirelli 235/45 - 17 that sent my MPG into the toilet. My 2.2L went from 35 down to 30 MPG. Consumer Reports says they have the highest rolling resistance.

How many miles do you have on your 02? I have an 02 with 28k miles and my tires are still good as new.

Another vote here for the Bridgestone Potenza RE 950's. I have them on my '97 GTP in the stock 225 60 16 size and H speed rated. They did just fine through the snow last winter. They are fantastic in the wet. They are quiet and don't really squeal going through hard cornering, the only time my tires squeal is with excessive tire spin.:D

There's about 10,000 miles on the stock tires. I only plan to use them during the winter months, Nov thru Apr.

I just put on a set of Nokian WR's. We just got a good dump of snow up here in Alberta and I can't say enough about the difference between the RSA's. They are V rated and have a 100,000km treadlife warranty. Can't say how the summer handling is yet..... But so far, so good!
