It happened again....
I while ago I posted a message about my RPM needle going crazy when I tried to accelerate. It was bouncing up and down around 3000-4000 rpms untill I let go of the gaz. It never did it again up untill yesterday.
I can be more specific about the problem now...
Im in first great, it's about to shift into second. IF the rpm needle is between 2500 and 3000 when it's ready to shift, the car won't shift and the needle bounces around like crazy untill I let go of the gaz, or it manages to shift into second itself.
Of course the problem doesn't occure all the time....yes it's one of those.
If the car is below or above those rpms, the problem doesn't occure (or at least it hasn't happened yet).
So does anyone have an idea what the problem could be....tranny going bad?
Im probably gonna speak to the dealer tomorrow, what could I have them check?

I'm thinking your TPS sensor might be the problem.

Throttle position sensor?
Can you please explain to me what that is?

Exactly what is sounds like :D It Senses the Position of the Throttle. EX: 50% 100% (WIDE OPEN THROTTLE) It’s located on the Throttle body.

So if the dealer checks out the TPS can they tell it's defective?
Because if they want me to go on a road test with them to show them the problem, it just won't do it.

Its hard to say if its an intermident problem, first thing you can do it go In to your dealer and report the problem, see if they have ever head of it before.

Further update on my problem....
Car works well for about 10 minutes. After that the problem starts...and the problem is getting worse.
On the way back home this afternoon, the car wouldn't go over 2000 rpms. If I tried getting the throttle down, the car would limit itself to 2000 rpms max and it would shake viloently.
Like I said, the first 10 minutes of the drive, car was fine...but started acting up with hard shifting, untill the point where the 2000rmp thing happened.
Still think it's the TPS?
Appointment is tomorrow morning...will keep you guys posted.
Thanks for all the help.
P.S. Get extended warranty it's a life saver!

Catalytic Converter... if it's clogged/very dirty, it would be difficult for you to go above certain RPMs. I still think you should check your TPS, too. It could have caused the cat to go if that has indeed happened.

The block heater had a small leak in it. It leaked dexcool on the crank sensor causing it to fail.
They fixed both problems and the car seems to runs fine now.

The reason i say the cat is because i had the same problem, I changed my TPS Coils Module crank sensor ect. Finnaly bit the bullet and took her in sure enough 8LBS of back pressure and 1500RPM They wanted 1600 dollars to Fix it. They tryed to blame it on my intake saying it caused me to run lean. after some bitching and threatening. I got it fixed on GM's emissions warenty witch is 6 year 120,000KM:)
