3.1 'oil pump drive' seal

Has anyone had any experience with changing this. Have oil leaking around the cap for the drive which is just under the throttle body. Looking for any hints or potential problems before digging in.

Yeah... I changed that on my old Z-24 with a 2.8. It wasn't that hard to change. Just pull the throttle body and you should have no problem getting at it with a decent extension on your rachet. I think it took me about an hour to replace it, including the removal and re-install of the throttle body.

The seal is for the cap that goes over where the distributor went before that engine went to a DIS (distributorless ignition system).

Do you think a bead of rtv just under the cap would do the trick?

Would save removing the TB and the coolant hoses that feed it.
