Okay, so I go to install a new LED bulb in my interior dome light, which on a 97 is located IN the rearview mirror. They're two little 'fuze type' lights. Got one in, went to install the second: I was fiddling with it and it was flashing as I was getting it fit into it's slot when I heard a *click* or *pop* from the passanger engine bay side or area and boom. No interior lights, no radio. BUT my radar detector and interior neons, which are tapped FROM THAT SAME FUZE still work! I used that "add a circuit" thing that replaces the fuze with two fuzes and one live wire.
Here's the kicker, I have BOTH the ABS and the master Brake lights on. WTF is that???
Every fuze in the car/engine bay is good, and I can think of nothing else...
Can anyone give me a clue what is up? Is it a relay or something?

Wow... Well I had a 96 and wasn't their a fuse box in the passenger campartment as well? I really think its got to be a fuse. Did you check the second fuse in your add a circuit thing (the one not hooked to your radar detector)? Also, what circuit was the add a circuit plugged into?

I checked all the fuzes, even the extra add a circuit fuze incase maybe I switched them. (I have a five amp running the acc.) But they are all good.
I even replaced the fuze but no joy. I have the circuit thing plugged into the raido/lights fuze. All the stuff that's NOT working, yet my acc. work...
This is just unreal, I have NO idea what is wrong. I think Im gonna go have the dealer put the reader on it and see what it says.

Try taking out that LED lamp and putting in a standard lamp again. It could be the LED lamp was bad from the start. I think the lamp probably drew a bunch of current which messed up the door lights relay. It either burned up or is grounding out. Try looking for that relay.

Got a similar problem, what did you do that resolved the problem? This identicle problem except it's a poping sound from the trunk I think... Also sometimes it's like the BCM doesn't wake up when the ignition is turned off (like after the door is open for a while and everything turns off to save battery)

It was the stupid LED lights. I gave up on those a long time ago. I don't know why exactly they caused the problem but they were it. Not only did I get bored of having the interior light up blue all the time but the fuse issue was BS. If you want a colored interior I suggest you go with neon...

I think they draw way too much. LED's actually draw less current, but in a car they're usually coupled with resistors to drop the voltage from 12v to about 3v, and this is what draws the current.

Hmm, I have LED's in the DR and PS footwells... Step one I guess...
I'd bet that since the BCM is directly driving these it's getting screwed up somehow.

Yeah, that could be. I just gave up, it wasnt worth all the problems I was experiencing. If you have anymore questions though, feel free to ask and I'll help where I can.
