I wasn't sure on where to post this so here goes. On the last forum there was a link to reverse indiglow gagues. Could someone repost that site because I wanted to order them. Thanks

And here we go... I'm raising the old argument of "what-did-you-do-about-the-odometer" reading? Did you go with the GT's odometer numbers, or did you get your old numbers in there?

I'd be really curious about that. Before the server crash, there were a lot of messages flinging back and forth about the odometer numbers. It was never clear to me as to what the conclusion was.

Also, did you get your GT cluster from a regular dealer or some discount house? I think this is one of the most spectacular modifications.

well I got a brand new cluster from gmpartsdirect for $150 shipped, so i started with a big 0 on my odometer after i put it in, and i only have about 1000 on it right now. to get the original numbers it needs to be taken to a speedometer shop, a dealership doesnt have the resources to do it so if u take it to them you'll probably pay more and they'll have an outside party do it for them. i havent really looked in depth into this just yet because its not the highest priority right now but my dad(which always over does things) said it could be up to $100 to recalibrate it, yet im still not sure cuz i havent called the shop to ask yet:rolleyes: now all this is pretty expensive for us SE guys to get new gauges, but if u want it bad enough you gotta pay....:(
any other questions???:)

Yeah, how often do you just sit in the car and stare and admire them, even when you have finished driving? grinnnn I really would like to do the conversion but honestly need the odometer to be reset.

I recall one message about the odometer units being swapped (can't recall how it is assembled into the cluster) so your old mileage is intact. Wish someone in the know knew about that.

LOL actually a lot more than I probably should, they look awesome and everyone else thinks so as well. I even try to sometimes drive with people next to me but with me a lil bit ahead of them so I can show off the guages. LOL. They're really fun to look at. But with the odometer units being swapped doesnt work. I know what post you're thinking of, but it was later said that it would not work. But mileage is also stored in the cars computer so it still keeps an accurate reading even though the odometer is wrong.

How does the color match the rest of the interior? At first I thought it would look stupid, but everyone seems to like them. Also, what was the install like? Similar to the wfg i'd imagine....

they look fine with the red, since there is a little bit of red in the gauges themselves, and the needles are still orange(but im going to change them to blue). the install was pretty simple, but u have to be creative in finding an adhesive for them to stay on since they dont come with one, and you have to wire the power and ground to the gauges and back to the cluster itself(otherwise your needles wont light up)

Interesting....what did you use for adhesive?

blahhhh what do you mean that the pullin out of the chip in teh gauge cluster and replacing it with teh gt clusters chip does not work?!!? I haven't tried it yet but it only makes sense!? I mean crap now I don't know if I'll have it done.

Apparently, if what was said is correct, then the info for the logged miles is stored elsewhere. Sure wish someone could confirm this other than what we think we recall from the older messages before the server crash.

GrandAmGT99:
I used double sided poster tape, it's a thin clear tape and reminds me of a gel type adhesive in a tape form.

resevil83:
There is no chip to pull out of the cluster, it's already been looked into by myself and SpyhunteR who has also done the cluster switch.

Irymal:
The mileage is stored in two places, the cluster itself and the computer. If the cluster is installed, the speedo shop would access the mileage reading from the computer and input the correct number into the cluster.
