Molded Back doors

hey guys i have a 99' GA SE 4 door and i am getting it painted next month, i was thinking about having the back door molded and then buying a couple GA 2 door front seats so i can still have access to the back seat. whats everyones thoughts on this? i think it would be pretty kewl to have a 2 door GA with back windows that roll down though..

If you have the $$$ go for it. You'd basically have a coupe then. Nothing really special just a lot more $$$ than you should spend on it. If you're up for it I say go for it but I would strongly recommend against it.

Do a Photo SHop of your car with the backdoors molded so you'll have a idea of what it looked like 1st

the only problem i see occuring is that your doors will be too small for anyone to get into the back seats, coupe doors are much larger then sedan doors

yeah.. sedan doors would be way to small to fit anyone back in the back... i think its a cool idea though... make a photo shop so we can all see it!

it would be totally imposs2ibe to access the back seats. See if you can go out and get into your backseat with just the front door open. I know the seats in the coupe fold, but it won't be enough.

Sounds like a new way to spend a few grand and devalue the heck out of your car. And it makes the back seats as easy to get into as Rosanne getting into a wetsuit. :vomit:
If you really need to spend the money, try the suicide doors idea like the Saturns.:thumbs:

molding the doors is going to make it look like a gigantic coupe, suicide doors would work but you would need the front doors open to access the backs i believe (i dont have a 4 door i dunno)... and there is obviously going to be clearance issues because its not designed for suicide doors, so its gonna have to pop out then flip backwards, and make it look stupid.. so... suicide doors aren't really worth it in that respect, but they would look cool if they didn't have to pop out first...

yes of course they open like stock doors, thats the idea, but i dont know or remember if the 4 doors are a STRAIGHT line in the back, and there are hinges in the middle that allow it to open one way... and they do pop out when you cant get them in correctly... go look on cardomain for the galant with suicide doors and look how stupid it looks because the doors aren't straight in the back

do you see how its not straight in the back? do you know how a door works? it would have no clearance to swing backwards unless it popped out first then swung back... when i say popped out i mean move an inch or two away from the car, then swung backwards... you have the same doors we do on the front, its STRAIGHT on the back hinge...
