amp blowing fuses

ok all of a sudden my amp blew both fuses ok no problem i switch out the 2 and the 2 new ones blow in 2 mins. so i put 2 more in and turn down all the setting in my radio. i couldnt even get the music up half way and the new ones blew again. why is my amp all of a sudden blowing fuses left and right. i used the same 20 amp fuses as it requires and i have no idea what it could be seing how my system has been working for 4 months and no problems

please tell me something

I MADE A TYPO THEY ARE 30 AMP FUSES NOT 20

If youre constantly blowing fuses there's something wrong with your setup. If the amp is under warranty, take it back and tell them to fix it. May also be a short on the speaker side, but not likely.

If the amp isn't under warranty, you have two options:
1) Pay to have it fixed
2) Buy a new amp.

I think i know the problem i have 2 12 inch jl w4's and one of them the voice coil is blown so its blowing the fuses. im gonna take the sub in and see if jl's are warrentied and get it fixed if not ill just have to buy another one.

W4's haven't been produced since '96, so they're out of warranty.

Hopefully your amp is OK, if an amp begins blowing fuses instantly like that rather than just going into protect, it usually means it has a blown output. :(

I found the problem the one speaker has a hole in it so im pertty sure ive found the problem and now all i have to do is buy a new speaker or a new set of subs.

never heard of w4's , are they DVC? if so u you just hook one sub up to your amp, that way you still got some bass, then buy a new pair of subs (or jl w7 or kicker L5/7 :) )

my amp isnt strong enough to push a w7 and the w4's are jl and they pound so im straight for now maybe in the future ill upgrade amps and move up to a w7. i do know what they can do though my club prez has one and damn has a 1500 watt v12 amp to and i only have a 650w v12 amp so im a little short there
