Great instructions posted here, they're geared for the GP's but the steps are the same.

** Disregard the steps about changing the caliper brackets since we're reusing our exsisting ones.

Another difference between the GP and GA is that the tightening specs are different. According to the GA service manual:
These are all front disc brake specs!
Caliper mounting bolt specs - tighten to 23 lb ft
Caliper bracket bolt specs - tighten to 85 lb ft
Brake inlet fitting bolt specs - tighten to 37 lb ft
Do you have the rear disk brake specs?

Hate to bring up a thread from the archives, but the thread up top doesn't seem to be working. Can anyone help me? I want to change my rotors/pads myself. I have a good idea about what to do but I need a little guidance along the way. Thanks.

I want to completely remove my calipers from the car when I do my brake job so that I can paint them. If I disconnect this brake line in this picture from the caliper, will i have to bleed the system and/or add brake fluid? Any guidlines or precaustions I should be worried about? It looks like its just a nut that I need to loosens. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Yes you will have to bleed the brakes. Anytime you remove a brakeline or release the pressure from the braking system in any way you must bleed the brakes. There aren't really any gotchas except that its a pain in the ass to turn the bleeder valves. I believe the GM manual instructions are already posted on the site. If you can't find them post here and i'll type up the one from the Service manual.
