Alternator Belt Loose??

Hey,
I installed my new 160 amp alt today and tried to tight the belt back down but there still seems to be a flap of the belt right under the alternator...it was screaching but it stapped but the flap is still there.
Anyone know how to tighten the belt more or fix this problem.

Flap under the alt pulley? On my 2.4, there really isnt much of a way to tighten a belt, the tensioner keeps it taught. I would go to autozone and get a slightly smaller belt. Heck, get a gatorback (the teeth on the back of them makes it sound like an SC!:D )
