View Full Version : gas gauge moving

Aight, here goes... sometimes when im driving down the street, my gas gauge randomly goes from the F all the way to the E, then goes back up a min or two later. It seems to be totally random, however it seems to be happening more the more i drive my car. There doesnt seem to be any pattern, like only when i hit the brake, or gas, uphill or flat, it just seems to be totally random. Any ideas? or could it turn into something serious?
This has happened the last 4 or 5 times i have filled my car with gas. Usually i let my tank get close to empty, then fill it full, it that could have anythign to do with it.. i dunno. I have a 99 SE 2.4L.... thanks.

welcome to my world..I have the same 99 se 2.4L I get all kinds of weird gauge things bouncing all around for no reason. my gas, speedo, temp and rpm gauges once in a while just randomly decide to float wherever they wish for no aparent reason. They do it for a min or two or sometimes untill I shut the car off. Dunno why!?!
