i've got a 01' GT and i had a question about the shifting......it's auctually between third and overdrive. what happens is when it shifts into third it then waits a second and then the RPM's decrease again but i don't really feel a shift. are these trans's 3 speeds with overdrive or 4 speeds with overdirve??

It's 3 with overdrive, but what your probably seeing is when the Torque Convertor clutch engages

EDIT: 3, then overdrive, so it's 4 total

You might also notice it doing that in overdrive when you are above 40mph

You'll also notice that when its really cold outside, the torque lockup takes a while to happen (until everything warms up) even at highway speeds. And, technically our transmissions are a 4 speed. Fourth gear being overdrive, but I think that was already mentioned.

About not shifting into OD right-away at highway speeds after just doing a 'cold-start'. (http://www.grandamgt.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=26832)
