As some have already figured out, those black plastic clips that hold the light bulb in place are extremely brittle! I have found the perfect solution! When you have the headlight assembly out, leave the bulb in the housing and remove the blue plug from the back of the light bulb. Since it's already stable in it's housing it shouldn't break off unless you pull too hard and don't wiggle the end off! Once you have the plug off the light bulb go ahead and swap the bulb. This really helped me out a lot and I find it to be 10x easier. I hope it works for you guys as well.

go ahead and add this little tidbit in too then :) Maybe you have a picture of what I'm referring to? If so maybe you can send it to me or you can do it yourself and mark the area I'm talking about.

Because that plug is a PITA to take off!!! And there's not much room to work with so you end up bending it (since it's at an angle) and those black things break! That's why :)

We are talking about the black round piece that holds the actual 9007 bulb in the housing, right??? How can you break it if all you do is turn it a bit???

No, we are talking about the two black clips you have to pull to remove your headlight.

Actually, now that I re-read what Macleod posted, I don't know what he's talking about. My bad:o

Yes the black ring. Somone ( ) didn't think about it till his 3rd ring and broke them. I took the bulb out and the black clip is still attached. Until the plug is removed it won't come off. Leaving the bulb in the housing and the black thing still holding the blub in place is how you want to take it off. If you take the bulb out of the housing and try removing the plug you have a 75% chance of breaking one of the three little black things that hold the bulb in place.

So, basically, what I am saying is do not remove the bulb until you have unplugged it! Hahah

Let's just make sure we point out that if you DO break those stupid ring things, they're pretty cheap and easy to get through your local dealership...(you know someone will ask)
i broke mine....and i left it in w/o it....
nothing bad happened yet....
unless my car is on fire as we speak...

OK, I am looking in my manual and under my hood, but I do not see the black clips that are supposed to be there to remove my headlights. Anyone have a GOOD pic of where they are?

well you have to remove the RAM AIR shield. And then once you remove it the clips are underneath it 2 for each light.
