I noticed that when driving about 70mph, I feel my car shake a little. I just everything re-aligned and balanced. Anybody have any suggestions on what else could be causing this?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Could a flat spot in one of my tires cause the shaking? It is just while driving at fairly high speeds.

They didn't balance your wheels right...and the 70mph is what gives it away. Do you have custom wheels on your car?

If they are stock rims are there weights on the inside and outside lip of the rims...(exception, balancers dont always call for weights on both sides of the wheel)? I'd take the car back where you had the balancing done and tell them to rebalance them. They probably aren't even mounting the wheel to the balancer properly, most shops don't.

If they just aligned your car I'd rule out any loose front end parts causing the vibration because most shops won't even do the alighnment with slight play.

You could have a damaged tire. Sometime the internals come apart. Cord separation is what I think it's called. Try rotating the tires to see if it changes. If you can lift the wheel and spin it you might detect a little wobble on the bad tire.

I'll second a bad tire... I chased a vibration for a few months, ended up being two different tires.

With my car, At 75 mph its a slight wiggle that isnt very noticeable in the steering wheel, but at 85 mph or higher I feel like im about to blow a tire. I wont do anything about it though because I normally have no reason to go that fast for any long period of time, I did get a tire rotation but its the same as it was before, I was thinking I needed a balance, when I brake my steering wheel shake isnt affected at all, its just speed-dependent, so I assume balance, which im probably not going to pay for until I have a long highway trip or something

What about a flat spot in one of the tires? I recently had my two rear wheels repaired for cracks. They said that this could have caused a flat spot in the tires...true?

have you rotated the tires front to rear to see if the problem moves to the rear of car... vibs may still be there but not as bad.. also you need to look at allllll rotating aprts.. brake rotors... In my mechanic days for goodyear... ive seen a bad CV joint on a car causing vibrations... its not typical but does happen... as others have said id take the car to a new shop and have them balance the tires again just to make sure

Quit being cheap and go get your rims balanced....the most I've seen it cost was at a Sear Auto Center for like $10 a wheel.

And you get free lifetime balancing for those tires on those rims after you pay that $43 or whatever it comes out to.

I just had the car aligned and balanced so why would I do it for a 3rd time "2003GAGT"? That would be stupid, not cheap.
