The only time ive heard what your describing is when two of my friends tires were at 20 psi because some idiots decided it would be funny to let some air out of his tires of his GA before he left for the store one day. It *could* be tire pressure

I have had no noises in my 2003 knock on wood yet but I only have 6,951 miles on it so I'm still trying to break it in. My 2003 has been treating me great the only problem I had so far was when a Tahoe rearended me in August so it caused a little rear bumper damage but it cost $752 to replace the rear bumper but it only cost me $50 because I have good insurance and a good deductible. But I had to replace both of my backup bulbs because the dumb GM dealership in my town forget to connect my backup bulbs when they replaced the bumper thefore they had the lights hanging down and theyre went the dirt and mositure and they got all dirty looking an brown. But they claimed it underneath my warranty because they were too stupid to say they caused the problem.

GTLUVA, may I ask how much a month you pay for insurance?

Seems to me that it would be a lot for something as low as a $50 deductable.

I pay $121 a month not bad its the darn $368 car payment a month that kills me right now. I used to pay $157 month but it dropped down $36 as soon as I turned 21 in October. I never got pulled over yet and I still have all of driving points. I was paying $140 a month on my old 2000 GT but I have insurance through State Farm.

I pay only $110 a month for insurance on my 03 SC/T, but thats in my dads name and I also go through state farm.

As for road noise I have 18,700 miles on my 03 and I have yet to hear any strange noises, maybe you could take it to the dealer and they would know.

could the road noise be due to cheap plastic interiors and crappy american parts?

wow sounds like some of you have really good insurance. I live in jersey..so mine is $526.00 a month....with a $500.00 deductable. This is with MetLife Auto/Home.

So you guyz are sayin all GA's rattle? heh...nice....NOT.

This is my second '03 grand am GT SC/T in the past year. The first one was totalled in a very bad accident (looong story) that was metallic silver....this one is fusion orange... I miss my Metallic Silver GT....:( :(

My car used to make excessive road noise when I was going on the HWY because my window regulator was bad and it was shutting the window completely. After I got it replaced it made a big difference in the noise level.

Over $500 a month??? What??

As for the rest, I have thought mine was high at $100 a month for my 2001 GA GT1.

As for the person who posted about "crappy american parts", I would beg to differ, as I work in the automotive supply industry everyday for a global supplier.

so the warping rotors, blowing gaskets, weak window regulators, cheap plastic interior pieces, etc. aren't crappy part then right?

My car use to squeak a little in the summer time, and it was always amplified ten fold in the winter. I haven't had a problem in the past year to two years. Don't know if it's because I got rid of my RSA's or not.

But in the winter time you'll noticed an increased amount of noise because everythings a lot harder because of the cold.

"could the road noise be due to cheap plastic interiors and crappy american parts?"

I was addressing your blanket statement that just is not true about American parts. Do you even know that all these parts are made in America? To perpetuate a concept from the 70's and early 80's that just is not true in 2004 is ignorant.

The gasket problem is an obvious issue that should be addressed differently at GM. As for the interior, I find the Alero and GA interiors to be jsut as good, if not better, than cars of equal price range.

New jersey is listed as having one of the most highest insurance premiums PER MONTH....which i think is absoulutely ridiculous compared to what you guys have to pay. Heh....100+ dollars a month......what a differnce that would make for us new jersey drivers.

Imagine wut my insurance would be if I drove a RWD vehicle with an 8-Cylinder.

My dads insurance on his BMW is high...its a 2000 540i......he told me "between your mothers insurance and my insurance....im putting out over a grand a month"

Ridiculous, isn't it?

Welcome to New Jersey!

Well, apparently according to the insurance quote websites ive been to, if i were to get insurance for a 2002 grand am se for someone under 21 in suburb minnesota, its going to cost an $8482 12 month term... ...$700/month!! Thats if I wasnt on my parents plan, which I currently am, my mom said that my ins. is $200/month with $500 deductable. I wish I could be paying $70 like everyone else with a $2000 or less car, instead my parents wanted to get me this car, im happy, but I dont think ill be able to keep it when they stop paying insurance(when I move out)
