According to that bulletin; the battery insulator piece is nessecary to protect the battery against the underhood's heat from the engine.
So for us people who are using Optima batteries (that are not the traditional shape; will the Opitma batteries withstand the underhood heat from the engine ok (without the battery insulation around the battery, like it was on around the stock unit) ?
