I think I have a big problem

I went to check my oil today and I looked at the oil cap and this is what it looked like. There was also a little bit of the same looking stuff in the neck where the oil cap goes. I'm pretty sure this is a lower intake manifold gasket leak from searching, but I wanted to post and hope someone would tell me different....

But I don't think that is going to happen. :(

I haven't had a low coolant light though
I am really p!ssed :rage:

If the LIM leak is the case about how much am i looking at for repair? thanks matt

That's water mixed in with your oil.

Just replaced my intake gaskets today, total price was about $75.... that is $45 for the intake gaskets, $9? for the valve cover gaskets, and various other little things. It took us 2 days worth of work to finish.

If you know what you're doing, it shouldn't be that bad.

I am going to take it to the shop tomorrow and see what they say. I am not going to try this myself lol

Yeah that just looks like condinsation (SP) get a pressre test done on the cooling system.

Check your coolant level, that way youll have an idea if there is actually coolant in the oil or not....

Whoa, okay I just got home today and I looked at my oil cap and saw a very thin layer of that yellow stuff on mine, but the oil looks perfect(no froth or discoloration of any sort, and my coolant level is exactly where it was over 10k ago), why? Should I rub it off and see if it returns?

Well i went to the shop today and the mechanic told me not to worry about it. That it was probably just condensation and that unless it started to run hot it was okay. :clap:Thank god, I have no money for repair. Is some coolant loss expected like having to top it off every once and a while, because I d have to put a little in about every 3 months?
