...ok i'll admit i haven't searched for this or looked online, but is there a brand everyone goes for? a specific one? a part number, is it specific for grand ams? i would assume they have universal ones, but at pep boys they had me totally confused... i got everything wired up and just put off installing the sending unit... so, if anyone knows post up =P thanks

ok i searched before i hit submit and came up with nothing...

usually the trans temp gauge comes with the sending unit. If it didn't, you got ripped.

Call Jakesummit 1 800 345 4545. I had to order an oil pressure sending unit through them. It cost me $37 shipped.

The tranny temp sending unit should be a lot less than $37 as its a more simple unit. I suggest contacting PFYC.com as they will go out of your way to help you - besides, they're a dealer for Autometer. If nothing else, they'll be able to steer you in the correct direction.

Oh, moved to technical Q&A

thanks, i actually saw the csi gauge in a summit racing mag, says it comes with relays and a sending unit for 79$... ouch...

so sending units are universal and what not? not just a specific one i need?

Like I said - talk to the guys at info@pfyc.com , I know they'll help you out.

PART # DESCRIPTION JOBBER
1225 Digital Temperature Gauge/Controller $98.99
1225R Relay Switch with Pigtail $19.00
1225S Pigital Temperature Gauge Sending Unit $20.00

DOH! its on their damn website....

i emailed pfyc and mike replied, VERY HELPFUL... and responded promptly :)

i thought the relay was bought after the fact as well... now to take everything apart inside and wire up a relay for a warning light when it hits abnormal temperatures and put the caspers fan setup switch/light in the pod... hmph, doesn't sound too bad...

now my only question is when they say "Pigital Temperature Gauge Sending Unit" do they mean another series of wires to be connected? or just the sending unit to connect to the blue wire in the gauge allready?
