I bought Next Level Strut Tower braces from www.partsforyourcar.com for my 1999 Olds Alero 3.4 and self-installed them. The rear worked fine, however, the front was in contact with my alternator. Since the engine, drivetrain, and chassis between the Pontiac and Olds are the same, what's the deal? The guys at pfyc.com sent me over here to try and figure it out because they have no answers. If you have a Next Level brace and/or have encountered this problem before, PLEASE help me because I'd like to not to have to return the part.

Take it off, turn it around, and re-install. You got it on backwards. But dont feel bad, alot of people did that during install, like me.

Hey Viper.. I had a similar problem with the rear... my stepdad and I just bought some 3/8" fender washers with some matching bolts and screwed those down... it keeps the brace in place better anyway and since it's covered by the insulation no one can tell. Thanks for all the help though guys!

How do you put a STB on?!?!?........haha, totally kidding

SLim "kinda" resurrected this old thread in the AAG section in another thread that was resurrected from like 4 years ago about a guys baby, sooooo I thought I truly would do it!!

I do have the pfyc Speedbuilt STB on the front of my car, still haven't put the back 1 on. I heard it can be a pain in the arse though buecause you have to "bend" it a little. :horse: lol

you shouldn't have to bend the rear one. I didn't have too and it went on fine. The only hard thing was sitting in the truck to get to the nuts.
