Has anyone heard a set of the kenwood excelon components with the dual magnets, reason I ask is that I got a set of 3 way excelon 6x9's and they sound awesome, so i may get a set of the comps too, but i'd like opinions first. Also I may switch over to kenwood amps and subs too. So what ya think are they good products or not? I want to get pretty much the same brand of equiptment through the car. I'm sick of having 7 pieces of equiptment with 7 different brands:D Opinions please!!!!!!

Mixing brands to get what you want is the best part of car audio. No one brand makes everything the best. As far as how kenwoods sound, only you can tell if they sound good. What any of us like you may not. JMO Peace, Lee

Kenwood makes good stuff, if you like it - go for it! My opinion is such that you could get much better sound for the sae or less money from other companies, but go with what you like, 'cuz it's your system! ;)

The best judge for how good something sounds is you. Cause I wont be riding in your car everyday you will so go get off your but and take your favorite CD's and listen to a couple brands.
And try to go to some other stores besides Circut City and Best Buy. Check out some more expensive brands if only for a refrence against crap. Some higher end brands are MB Quart(their tweets are a little harsh for me) Rainbow Audio(ultra expensive hard to find), JL, Eclipse (I like their Point Source series), Dynaudio (I love their studio speakers some of the best I've heard). Good luck and buy what you like

the dual mags have a nice upper range, and a smooth, not harsh tweeter.
However they lack lower end mid bass

If we are throwing out name brands, Crossfire, RS Audio (best I have ever heard), Focal, and DEI. JMO Peace, Lee
