would like to know where i can find the crank position sensor on a 1996 grand am gt.i am having a very difficult time finding it.my engine is a 2.4.anyones assistance will be greatly appreciated.thank you!

dude i had that problem, had to change it out kuz car kept stalling when it got hot! its right behind your main crank pully (the biggest pully on your engine)
well, at least it is on my 3.3, should be the same tho!

thanks will check to see if i can find it.were you able to get it from the top of the car or from under the car.your assistance is greatly appreciated.

you get to it thru the passenger side wheel well. you need a harmonic balancer pulley removal tool.

yeah that would be a good idea, but we used an impact wrench (the air powered drill thingy) to take the bolt out and used a hammer and crowbar to get the actual pully off lol, it worked and took like 3 minutes

im new to this site but ive been workin on cars my whole life and the last thing you want to do is use a hammer and crowbar.....if you need help i can walk you through it step by step......ive done a bunch of them before

i took the passenger side wheel off an still cannot find the sensor.do i need to remove the pully out completly and is the sensor behind the pully.

yes you might have to take off splashguard to see the big crank pully, the largest one. yes you do remove it, just make sure you get it back on correctly too!
