Tire Flat Spot / Bent Rim

What up...

I noticed that for the first 10min or so when I drive my car, I get a bad shimmy in the steering wheel. After that, it gets better, but is still noticable at above 55mph. Would this more likely be from a bent rim or a flat spot in the tire? I just had the wheels aligned and balanced.

Is there a way to check for flat spots in a tire?

Yes. Take your car back to whatever shop you went to and tell them what you just posted. They can watch the wheel when it's on the balancer and see if the wheel, tire, or both are moving.
