View Full Version : Crazy idle RPMs in park

I just got back from driving, put my car in park and listened to one more song, suddenly my RPMs started going nuts dropping down to about 300-400 and shooting up over 1200, you could hear the fans (I had the heat on) speeding up and slowing down and watch the lights dimming A LOT. So I turned the car off and turned it back on and it was fine with a regular 600 RPM idle... Any ideas on what may have caused this? I did just get a system (2 subs) for my car, but they weren't even bumping when it happened and the volume was really low... I only have 13,700 miles on the car.

Did the SES/SVS light or any other lights come on?

No SVS/SES lights came on, just the RPMs going nuts and anything electrical as well.. What does the idle air controller do exactly?

Its a little motor at the top of the TB that opens and closes to control idle speed.
