I'm gonna change my plugs and wires and I need a little help. I bought the AC-Delco Platinum plugs, but I don't know what wires to get. I don't wan't any really expensive wires that you have to order online, just some that you could get at Auto Zone or Advance Auto Parts. Which of these brands/types would be the best wireset with the AC Platinums???

Bosch 09780- $41
double-silicone- $22
AC-Delco 746V (OE Style)- $36
Xact 3115 (OE Style)- $24
Autolite Ignition 86832 (Pro-Fit)- $28
Autolite Ignition 96832 (Pro Series Version of 86832)- $35
Niehoff Ignition 1276139 (Ultra Ignition Sets)- $34
Niehoff Ignition 1276139PS (Power Spark Ignition Sets)- $31
Standard 7658 (Premium Ignition Wire Set)- $39

P.S. - Leanin towards the Autolite Ignition 96832, Xact 3115, double silicone, or Bosch 09780 cause they're in stock.

I only use Delco products when it comes to plugs and wires. The quality of the OEM stuff is great.

Bosch- worth every penny

I figure if OEM parts were so good why did I have to replace them at 52,000 miles.

52K miles? Pretty fair for a $30 part wouldn't you agree?

Dunno how god/bad their wires are, but I'm not the first person who has tried their spark plugs and had an SES light from misfires.

I used the standard 1-element Bosch Platinums for about 6 months. Replaced them with AC Delco Rapidfires a couple weeks ago and they work great. Wires are the Taylors from PFYC.

These plugs and wires are love 'em or hate 'em...and that usually means poor quality control. Otherwise you'd have only the occasional complaint.

Well I think I'm either gonna get Bosch, Autolite, or AC-Delco. Has anyone tried any of these wires with AC-Delco Platinum Plugs. If so, are they good, which works the best with the AC Plats??

I use delco plat plugs with delco wires. Never a problem. That's what I'd go with.

I see you're located in GA. If you were to order the MSD 8.5mm wires from http://www.doctorspeed.com they'd be there in time for the weekend.

Why exactly do we need to swap wires when we change the plugs? They never are corroded or anything and its not like the wire has heat damage or anything, but everyone does it

I know there is a reason, what is it?
