Has anybody else have the problem of their front windshield moldings peeling away and leaking?
My car has been in the shop twice now for the molding peeling away. I just got back from the shop, and it is peeling again on the upper corner of the passengerside.
It is going in the shop next week again for it.
I have talked ot several other people and they have said they have the same problem with the moldings peeling away.
Does the frame twist funny or is it just a crummy window molding design?
Sorry, was ranting. BTW, what is the lemon law say on this? If the car is in the shop 4 times for the same issue?

Not sure if this is what you're talking about, but the rubber strip that lines the bottom of my rear window has been comming off almost since I bought the car, luckily no water leaks in through that though, so I've been a bit slow to get it checked on....

Yea, kinda something similiar. I am going to take a picture of it eventually. The piece I am talking about is the upper corner of the front windshield, where the side molding overlaps the top molding.
For some reason, the side molding is peeling away from the frame and the upper molding.

I had the same problem with my old 2000 GT Coupe the molding came off so bad you can see the glass from the front windshield. I called the guys in the little red trucks and they resealed the molding for me and no problems after that I think they only charged me $26 not bad.

I have the same problem on a 02 GASE. The vertical molding on the drivers side windshield keeps popping off. The top of the molding has a mounting hole, there is a tab that's supposed to hold it in place. My tab doesn't line up with the hole. The molding has to be replaced because it is now cracked from snow brushing all winter.

Yea, I know what you mean by that tab. I can see the tab sticking out from the hole it is supposed to be in. Looks almost like the molding streched out or something from the frame.

Can anyone tell me if and how the weatherstrip is attached to the moulding?
i asked the same question before. if its coming apart id just replace it. easier and probably less messier.

I have the new driver's side molding that I paid thru the nose for at a Pontiac dealer . . $47.50!!!
My question is about the rubber weatherstip that seems to be attached to the plastic molding.
The rubber is in fine shape, but if it is bonded to the molding, I'm afraid that getting it off the old molding will destroy it and I would then have to buy a new weatherstrip.

Just to follow up, the weatherstip just pulls off and pushes back on. Not glued on.
well, if i know what youre talking about then you can take it apart and it should be fine. after i replaced mine i took the old one apart and it didnt look damaged. but when i bought the part, both peices came together.
