View Full Version : Clean Throttle Body

I've read a few things lately about how it's good to clean your throttle body and I've seen some pics of some nasty ones. So I take off the rubber intake hose to take a look inside the throttle body, and I discover the thing is spotless and sparkling. My car is a '99 GT with 72000 miles and I bought it at 60000. I know it hasn't been cleaned since I bought it, so how in the hell is it so damn clean...it's as clean as the ported throttle body pictured on doctorspeed.com:wtf

it usually gets dirty behind the butterfly.
I run TB cleaner through mine once a year or so, or whenenver I think about it.

I opened the butterfly vavle and it looked pretty clean back there too when I shined a flashlight back there.
