if anyone has read the latest motor trend they say the first car to becoming from the pontiac performance division will be a v8 fwd grand prix sometime in 2003-2004, since gm is trying to pump up their lineup with such cars as the sts-v cts-v and so on this will be really cool to see its reported to have more then 300hp too bad it wont be awd

I will believe it when I see it. That would be nice.

So far what I've seen is they have planned is a 250HP 280Ft.Lb. L67 4 door only bloated distorted Alero looking GP.

I don't care, I'm looking for a 2 door current gen GTP right now. :D

Only if you're gonna be getting a GTO =).

Actually, I'd just wait 'til '05.. you could then get a new GA w/ AWD, 6-spd manual, and 250hp.

Since GM is bringing the Monaro over anyways...
the 2-door Monaro should have everything the HSV GTS has, that is one SWEET car - I would call this the GTO :)
Make a 4 door, call it a Grand Prix, since they don't offer 2-dr's anymore... I think that would be freaking awesome...

You mean the HSV "Coupe GTS" for the GTO to be a nitpicker ;) But it won't happen yet cuz 400 hp is too close to the vette's power. When the Vette is upgraded to over 400 hp stock and an option for over 500 hp, I think a GTS-type package could be added and maybe they could call it the "GTO Judge." That would be sweet. The regular GTS would be sweet as hell as the Grand Prix replacement tho.

I was comparing pictures of the Coupe GTO and GTS to the painting of the furture Pontiac GTO and they look really similar. It is my guess that this is what they are using as the base for the new GTO. They apear to have the same spoiler and side skirts. Most likely they will use the GTO 255 version and not the GTS 300 for the reasons stated above.

I still want pontiac to make the G8.... An LS1 powered AWD Grand Prix would be so sweet...
