It's a plasticy rattle.

Does it change with engine speed? Does it change when you hit bumps?

Actually it's only noticable in idle (I can hear it loudest when I'm at, say, a drive thru window) I rev to 1500 rpm and no noise.

PCV valve. Get under there and listen, I'll bet thats what it is. They can get rattley, just like you described, and then go away with the Revs up.

I would have never thought of the pcv valve. That would certainly be a cheap and easy fix. My guess would have been the idler pulley. Let us know how it turns out.

I'll let you know for sure... it could be the pcv valve, but I'm not sure cause it was just changed recently. The pulley is more likely cause I can see it kinda shimmy back and forth. It's cold here now, so I'm gonna wait til it's a little warmer to look into it.

lol Recovering from my power steering pump fiasco.
