Its on the driver side of the oil pan....looks like its coming from where the trans. bolts to the block.....any idea what im talking about or what it is? also will low oil turn the SES light on? thanks

it really looks like oil....dark...doesnt have that red tint.....

like i said its dark.....thats the weird thing...i got hit....i moved my CAI up under the hood so it didnt get wet them the light came on. i unpluged the battery for a few hours, started the car and it was still on....i ust got done changeing the oil. rest the light and no more SES light. thats when i noticed the leak.

When you looked at the oil dipstick, did it seem in any way obvious that it was low

That's what I'd say...rear main seal.

Yeah, it will make a huge difference if 1: you can lock down EXACTLY what the fluid is... and 2: if your oil is low

Sounds like a rear seal (if its oil) or an input shaft seal (if tranny fluid) and our engines DO have rear seals.

THey do have rear main oil seals, they are just not in the rear because the engine is transversly mounted!!!! It is the same physical seal found if the engine was mouted like a RWD car, just to the right side of the engine in our case!!!
