Hi...

I am planning to get blue underbody neons this week....how hard is to install them? What is the transformer? How can i turn them on/off? where do i run the wires? How do i connect to battery?

The neons themselves are easy to install. They come with little plastic rings you screw into the sides of the floor part under your car.
the transformer is where you connect your neons. power and ground comes from it also.
They come with a metal switch you can mount inside your car somewhere. Simply run power from the battery to the switch, then from the switch to your transformer. then ground the transformer. Then there are 2 other wires coming from the transformer you connect to your neons.

I'll make a diagram :)

ya, its real easy. Instead of the supplied clips, I used Zip ties. works great, and easy to get off when winter comes.

turns out I made one a long time ago.
It's rough, but it gets the idea across.

I drilled holes into the rails (Where the jack would go, that rail) so when I tightened the ties up, it pulled the tube above the rail.. Watch on drivers side, the fuel/brake lines run along the rail at the rear. You may have to position the tubes a little more forward. I will take pics when I get my hands on a cam.

NOTE - do NOT tighten the zip ties over tight, my first attempt I torqued the tube too much and as soon as I turned them on it blew an inner bulb. (hehe, warranty)
Just snug where you cant pull the tube side to side.. (front to back like)

thats right! lol.
took like 3 of us, steve, mike (i think) and me. everyone got electricuted at one point, and we even ripped a wire out soon after.
btw after my accident I ripped that wire clean out driving down the road. I didnt even know it until I took them off. :boogie:
now I gotta find some poor sap on ebay to buy them. I dont wanna deal with sendin them to streetglow.

moral: make sure you run all your wires correctly :)

good idea molson! I'll try doing that before I do the normal way.

do you guys think it would be good to put electrical tape over the neons in the winter to protect them if you dont wanna take em off? came up with that idea a few days ago...

I would take them right off. The cold will make the plastic brittle and anything that hits it will shatter it. (IMO)

Although it would look cool in the snow. :)
