OK, well my Andy's kit came today and I was thinking about installing it myself. Has anyone done this and if so how hard was it and how much time did it take to put on. Also if I was to have a shop put it on and paint it how much do you guys think a ballpark cost would be? Thanks.

Cost would be hard to tell you, because it varies a lot from one shop to another, and even between states. You'll just have to ask around for some quotes and pick the best deal. Just make sure they do good work too. Ask for references, or talk to people with body kits in your area and find out where they had the work done. You don't want to go to the place with the lowest price but also the crappiest work.;)

As for doing it yourself, I don't recommend it unless you have a lot of experience working with fiberglass and prepping body pieces for painting (in which case I don't think you'd be asking for quotes). From what I've seen and heard, the Andy's kit doesn't fit very well and needs lots of work to fit smoothly.

Is putting a kit on at the same level as putting the stock stuff on? I want to get the guy that did my car after the wreck to put my kit on but want to make sure its something he can do.

pretty much the same thing. I installed my *** front end by myself.

Not that hard but if it is your first time, it will be a little frustrating and you need the tools for it too.

(drill, drill bits, screws, washers, wratchets, ect._

pretty much take of the stock bumper (located all the bolts first) and then put the new one one.. set it put perfectly and mark your holes.. then drill and put back w/ screws..

now you see why 2 people is pretty much needed.. that way he holds it in place and you mark the holes

then i crashed and luckily had a friend who still had his *** front still for sale.

Might be. Right now I am stock with a scratch on the back bumper. :p I am interviewing for a summer job at NASA tommorow and hopefully will end up being able to buy the RK kit this summer.

if u want a quote i went to 2 body shops, 1) said like 1000 just for painting, the other said 800 if its prepped.
IF you have some type of college and they teach body stuff, give it to them, they will do it for free all you have to do is pay for the paint.

I paid $500 to get my AAS kit and SD hood painted. I prepped everything...just paid to get it painted (paint included in that price).

Well I installed both my kits myself. If you have some common sense and the proper tools it is not too difficult. However I have heard the same thing as AaronGTR has about the fitment of the AAS kit. But I mean really you can always go back and have a shop do it if something still doesn't go on right the first time.

As for paint I got my kit done for about $400 (I had paint left over from the hail damage repaint..:p).

OK, got the kit on all by myself witrh a little help of a friend. Fit quite good except for aprt of the back and side skirts. How did everyone put their skirts on? Right over the old one or took the old ones off? I have yet to see a 4 door with the AAS and the ribbing. I took a circluar saw and cut the bottom half of the sides off and it fit like a glove. Now comes the fiberglassing and the rest of the fitting of the kit. Overall I like it and loks real good with my new rims. I think I need to lower it though...If you want pics let me know.

Here it is with the unfinished parts and new rims. I took out the front fender wall and made a custom bracked and mounted to the frame to support it.
