How did you guys attatch your mesh grills to the parts of the body kits?

I was thinking about taking 1/2" flat SS machine screws and epoxy them upside down from the inside or the kit and then just put the open end of the bolt through the mesha dn throw a washer and lock nut on there.

Also where can I get big sheets of wire mesh? I went to Lowes and all they had was gutter guard stuff and it was too narrow.

I am trying to figure out with my body shop how to get mesh on well. I haven't really learned how yet. I would love some input if anyone has any. Autozone has nice pieces of mesh made to be grills on cars. Try there by you. The one right by me has alot of it..

OK, well last night I started doing the epoxy thing and it seems to be working good. I will take picture later when I get home and post them tomorrow.

I will keep them in mind but I would just like regular galv grills or whatever so I can custom cut them and then have a shop paint them when they paint the kit.

I was asking a good way to fasten the mesh to my kit. The body shop that is painting my kit didn't know how to do it well. But I know now, and they are doing it today.

we are thinking about putting a little dab fiberglass in behind and a screw hole. Then after it dries just use that to screw it fast.

They just used some type of silicon behind the mesh. I have washed it alot, and no problems yet, so I guess it's ok.

i used a hot glue gun and just glued mine on (*** kit). I had it on for a year and a half and no problems. try not to get the glue in the painted area of the kit at all though. I had a little that i just pulled off juust before it dried and no paint came off with it.

Bondo ppl, Bondo works well. Many custom shops use it for grills.

Bondo or fiberglass works good. I used it on the front piece of the bodykit and back and sideskirt openings that i put on a Sunfire and he hit a deer with the kit on and the mesh never fell out and he was doing about 40 mph when he hit it. Thats the best thing ive found so far. Let me know if you find anything better.

my body shop has a 2 part epoxy that dries in seconds....thats what we used. It has a spiral tip so it mixes as it comes out. Not sure what it's called though

Insulation foam. It'll serve two purposes. One is holding the grill on and the other is to give your kit more support. It wokred really well on mine...
