*** body kit

hey guys, im planning on getting the *** body kit this summer. how much do u think it would cost to get it painted and put on my car. im planning on having the whole trunk re-done. im getting rid of the wing and getting the *** low wing and also taking out the key hole out of the trunk (ive never used it). how much would u think this would all go for??

but nobody from around here has a body kit for their grand am...and some punks around here think body kits wouldnt look good on a domestic...so i want to prove them wrong

get an RK kit. almost no one has one. it's cheaper, and you won't have to get it fixed when it gets to you....:rolleyes:

The cheapest quote I got (minus the wing) was $800. That was just to prime, paint and put it on. Keep in mind, the pieces will not fit like stock so you will have to pay for extra labor to fit the pieces which may run you an additional $200 or so. You would be lucky to to pay $1250 for everything.

Thats alot of money just to prove someone wrong. I got quoted $400-$500 just to have my *** hood painted and thats just the hood. Cant imagine what 2 facias 2 side skirts and a wing would cost. Prep,prime,paint and install, man thats alot of money. Dont forget the shipping on the kit either. I paid almost $250 just for shipping, dont forget thats just the hood.

i like the RK Sport kit... made of more durable material too... my *** low wing came to $750 total after purchase, shipping, painting, and labor... that was just a wing too...

i think both kits are bad a$$$$ me perconally the *** kit loks so much more intimitating and alot meaner but hell of alot of work to get it to look right . for the money and cause alot of people have *** kit oi would go with rk or sct . thoase are both nice

im in kinda the same situation as methos is.....im about to purchase the *** kit also....but ill wait till i have all of the following before taking it to a body shop...so i can save me a few bux as opposed to taking them seperately: front/rear fender, rockers, razzi spoiler, pfyc hood. Will also be telling them to shave the antenna/trunk hole.

go with SC/T kit, it keeps the line of the car intact. personally all the other kits out there ruin the look of these cars. if i had a GT, id be on the SC/T kit in a heart beat

Yeah, if you get the whole car painted and the full kit put on, you're looking at $3500-$4000 for a good paint job without the price of the body kit. Thats what Mine cost.

It's really hard to say what it will cost.....depends on the area you live in and what not. When I had my car shaved I got prices from $500-1100. I went with a shop that was suggested by some other local tuners for $550.....now the same shop is doing some other miner bodywork/mods and repainting the whole car for $3000.

I would say your probably looking at $1000-2000 depending on the shop.

I agree with the iK to 2K price point. the exact price will depend on location, and how good of a job you want.
I had the *** kit, and am now waiting for my RKSport kit to get here.
I absolutely loved the way my *** looked, and think the RK looks nice also. I won't say which one I like better, but I will say, the RK kit is not fiberglass, and after going through 2 *** kits, that has gone a long way towards me making my decision.
Looks aren't everything. Reliablility is.

I am getting my kit fitted and whole car painted for $2000 Canadian. He is also getting rid of the groove in my door for that price. We were gonna shave the door handles but you cant get your car safty inspected up here if you do that.
