Oil filter change

I am using Mobil 1 oil and im at 5000 miles my question is since I can go longer on mobil 1 should I change the filter before I change the oil again also how much longer can I go before I have to change my oil? thanks guys.

It depends on what type of oil filter you are using.
Some oil filters it is not a good idea to use for extended lengths of time/mileage.

I myself am using a Napa Gold (made by Wix) 'over-sized' 1036 (similar in sizing to an AC Delco PF-52) oil filter.

The oil change monitor system in your GA will tell you when is a good idea to change out the oil (or maximum time period of 1-year).
Or you can go with like a 6-month oil change schedule instead (if before the oil change light comes on).
