Lets get one going for Wisconsin now :) I took off my front plate two weeks ago finally I sure do get a lot more cops attracted to the front of my car but they always tend to look at my big white Pontiac Decal on my windshield. Sometimes I don't want it on my car anymore but I just keep it on their because it keeps the cops eyes away from my radar dector and not having a front plate. lol

:lol too bad I don't have a front license plate... my car's registered in Mississippi. so no front license plate, no BS tint rules and best of all, no smog!!!! the military has its advantages.

They are required here in OR, but I don't keep mine on. I get a fix it ticket every once in a while and put the plate back on, then take it back off a month or two later.Wish we could get one of those petitions started here.

In OR, do they fine you as well as the fix-it ticket? I got two fix-it tickets for no front plate back when I had the GAGT and on top of having to take the car to the DMV and having them check the front plate, I had to pay a $20 fine.

Nope, no fine. Just a piece of TP syaing to put the plate back on. I even offered to do it right there, since I carry it in the trunk, but the cop just chuckled and told me to get it put on there. He was actually pretty cool about it. I went around a corner in a 25 mph zone doin almost 60. He was sitting there with a sign saying slow down. We looked right at each other and smiled. I stopped smiling when he pulled out though and turned his lights on. I quickly unplugged the detector, no noise so I know he wasn't RADARing me, and pulled over. He told me that I slowed down as soon as I saw him, so he was just going to give me the fix-it. One of the many lucky ticket breaks I get.

again, I will say that I have never, in the three years I've owned it, had a front plate on. IMO they make the car look ghey, and what's more, is why would a cop need to see your lisence plate from the front anyway. If he wants to pull your a$$ over, he will.

I got a piece of toilet paper with instructions to put my front plate back on, and my excuse to the judge was "I never got a front plate, and I'm not gonna drill holes in my bumper just to appease the city." He let me go, no more questions asked. I crumpled up that piece of trash right there in the courtroom and tossed it in the rubbish bin on my way out.

Hey Pigs, Kiss my fat a$$

Had the same petetion for Maryland. I hate the front plates and I don't have it on the front of my car. I don't think the letter is the same, but it's the same site. I wonder how that's going? According to RAZE's responses in this and my thread...

Ain't gonna happen. :(

If you can fully see the letters/numbers/whatever on the plate it's legal here in SD. I wonder if I could get by without a front plate. Cause they really do suck to clean.

Front plates are required in Idaho too. I hate it. Our dealership even stop selling covers. My sister had a cover instead of a plate and got like a $50 ticket. So I have never had a cover on mine, but I want one so bad. I want to order one, but I am not sure if I could put it on because the cops are watching cars like crazy. See to get to work I have to drive down a road that is 55 mph, plus that road crosses two other roads that are 55 mph. The state says there are to many fatal accidents on the road do the cops are getting people for going only four over the speed limit. If you do anything wrong they will get you. Yesterday I got pulled over for not keeping my binker on for more than five seconds before I moved over and for going 61 mph. But he let me off with a verbal warning.
