What is the best way to check if you've got front wheel bearings going bad. I'm getting a "wa-wa-wa-" sound, but I can't tell which wheel it's coming from. Doesn't seem to sound different when I'm turning either way, but gets a little louder when I brake and slow down. I'm getting no vibration at all.

Thanks! :slayer

I have found that you can tell which wheel bearing is bad by listening during a turn. A bad right wheel bearing will make noise when turning left because more stress is on the bearing. Bad bearing first start making noise during turns and as they get worse, noise will start when driving straight. Bearings last for quite a while before anything drastic happens.

I've had three replaced on my '96 Olds Achieva.
